Blogging takes time, sure, but there are plenty of great reasons to be a guest blogger. Nothing ever came easy that was worth it and that is very real when it comes to blogging. But we’re bloggers, we help each other out, that’s just what we do! So let’s just dig in, and explore the top 5 reasons to be a guest blogger.
5. Increase links to your site
As a guest blog, you should be getting the opportunity to add at least your name and a link back to your own blog. Some blogs even offer the ability for you to write a short bio about yourself, but the link here is key. The more links back to your site, the better. There isn’t a ranking system (that I know of) that doesn’t like links and sees them in a positive light.
4. Expand your audience
When your guest post is published on another blog, their audience becomes your audience. You have the opportunity to reach out to readers that don’t know who you are, they don’t know what you are and they don’t know what you have to offer them. Guest blogging is great opportunity to expand your reach.
I’m not talking just about networking with other bloggers who will potentially post your article, we’re talking about the community and networking opportunities that comes from a published post. If you write valuable, quality information people will want to respond they want to be involved and share their opinion. Respond to the comments and start a real discussion!
Bloggers are some of the nicest, most generous and most considerate people I have ever met. Bloggers have a true sense of community and it extends to every niche topic and industry. Whether they blog for hobby or for a company, they are there for other bloggers and want to see everyone succeed. So know that in doing something nice for someone, like oh say publishing their guest post may one day help you as well, and besides just knowing you did something to help someone else is an amazing feeling.
1. Increase your authority
This is probably the most important. A lot of you blog to increase your authority in one way or another. You want to be known for something and you’ve put a lot of time and effort into creating a personal brand that helps portray you how you want to be seen. Blogging only backs it up. So go on, guest post and add one more notch to your personal branding belt!
What do you think? Why do you guest blog? If you don’t why not?
